Candle Magick Spells

Candle magic is one of the simplest, most basic forms of spell casting and can be practiced by anyone no matter their experience with spell casting. The spells rarely require a lot of fancy ritual or expensive ingredients and can usually be performed on a small table or altar. Basically, anyone with a candle can perform a spell. Remember when you were a child a made a wish before you blew out the candles on your birthday cake? That was candle magic. Only now, instead of just hoping for a new bicycle, you'll be consciously declaring your intent and naming your goal.

What Type Of Candle Should I Use?

The most important thing to look for when selecting your candle is to be sure the color is the same all the way through. You don't want a white candle that's been dipped in green paint. You want a candle that is made of a solid green material. Wax, Parrafin, Beeswax - it doesn't matter as long as the color is uniform. Since some Candle Magic spells require you to watch the flame until the candle burns out, you may want to try to find a smallish candle, not one of those big ones that burn for 48 hours!

You should also always use a brand new candle, that has been charged and consecrated by you, for each spell. Never reuse a candle from spell to spell.

What Color Candle Should I Use?

Once you get used to using Candle magic you'll find yourself casting spells all the time. So it may be wise to keep a variety of colors on hand. Generally, here are the uses for the different colors:

Preparing Your Candle

After selecting your candle, you must oil it before burning. This establishes a connection between you and the candle itself. This charges the candle with your own personal vibrations and energy.

To dress the candle, use a natural oil. Some spells require a specific oil, but if not, then use your own preference. Begin at the top of the candle and rub the oil down to the middle. Then, begin at the base of the candle and rub the oil up to the middle, overlapping where you left off. Rub in one direction only, not back and forth, as this negates the charging.

Casting Your Spell

The most basic candle magic spells call for you to use a piece of colored paper that matches the color of your candle. Simply write your goal or intent on the piece of paper while focusing and concentrating on your desired results.

Then simply fold the paper and burn it in the candle flame, holding on to it as long as possible without burning yourself. Let the paper finish burning in a fire-safe container and allow the candle to burn out completely.

After the candle has burned out, burying the stub outdoors is best, but, if that isn't possible, dispose of it and do not try to reuse it.

How Will I Know If My Spell Worked?

Generally, you should see signs within 3 days. If you've performed a love spell, you may have a dream about your love interest or even bump into him on the street. If you've cast a money spell, perhaps you'll find money in an old coat pocket.

If, after one month, you see no signs of success, try again. But do not repeat the same spell. Use a new candle and a new spell.
